Bingo-themed Photo Frames DIY frame crafts based on the classic game Gingham Bingo Frame -

Bingo nowadays enjoys a certain elevated status—more than a game, it has become a subculture. It penetrated genres which did not seem likely before; for instance, it has been the subject of films (Bingo: The Documentary), it inspired the name of a band (Bingo Players), and it even permeated the fashion industry (Fashion Week Bingo card). It’s no surprise if it also joined the craft world.
The classic bingo game has inspired many craft projects, and recently enthusiasts have been making photo frames based on it. Here are some examples:
Gingham Bingo Frame Amy Duff of Vintage Street Market created this frame. The frame was first covered with red gingham printed paper, then layered with mini vignettes including old bingo cards. The bingo card is wrapped in black twirly twine, and a cutout of a paper doll is included. This will depend on the photo to be placed in the frame—if the picture is of a fashionista, a cutout of BingoGodz’ Afro-Dity will be better, or soccer balls if the photo is that of an athlete.
Bingo Collage Frame Amanda Jones Designs came up with this frame idea. Using a rectangular simple black frame, she created a vintage bingo collage photo frame. To create a classic feel, the bingo card was “distressed a bit” in order to appear older. Other vintage items such as stamps and tea collectors cards may also be added. A paper flower at the frame’s edge will be an ideal finishing touch. Scalloped Bingo Frame This can be made using printed bingo cards and printed scallop-designed frames.
Deedee Campbell gave the steps on how to proceed: stick the bingo card on the scalloped frame then use scrapbooking materials to embellish. Cork oval fruits may be placed on the frame’s edge, then some raffia and charms may be put opposite the cork fruits for balance. Colored lace may be placed at the bottom part for a touch of elegance.

As it seems, this winter is cold enough. In many places around the globe the weather is snowy. Snow is so nice when it does not cause any problems and we can only enjoy the games on it. I believe that a lot of us enjoy playing on the snow, making snowmen or playing snowballing.

Did you know the existence of Sweetest Day?  For this year it is going to be celebrated on October the 19th, 2013.

Sweetest day is ceremony which is celebrated largely in regions of Great Lakes and also in the parts of northeast US. Sweetest day is celebrated on 3rd Saturday in month of October. By the Retail Confectioners International, Sweetest day is described as the occasion that offers us the chance to memorize not only the aged, orphaned and the sick but also to remember associates, relatives and friends who are very kind and helpful to us. Sweetest day is also referred as the concocted promotion which is formed by candy industry exclusively for enlarging candy sales.

The origin of Sweetest Day is frequently attributed to candy company employee Herbert Birch. His desire was to bring the happiness for the shut- ins, under- privileged and orphans. His main intention was to display that they are not forgotten. Kingston started sweetest day as the holiday by giving the small gifts and the candy in the year 1922. Sometimes he uses the movie stars for distributing the gifts.

The attractiveness of sweetest day as holiday spread very quickly. Today, sweetest day is celebrated with the friends and loved ones. Sweetest day is celebrated to make somebody happy. Sweetest day is not based on any of the individual’s group spiritual feelings or on family relationship. Sweetest Day is celebrated on the third Saturday in month of October. Holiday on sweetest day is very much significant in some of the regions in United States. Now day’s holiday on this day is getting the popularity each year all through country.
Near about sixty years ago, the Cleveland man, by believing that city’s shut-ins and orphans sometimes felt that they are neglected and forgotten, conceived thought of displaying all of them that still they are remembered. Cleveland did all this by distributing gifts. With help of the neighbors and his friends, Cleveland distributed the small gifts as the remembrance in month of October on Saturday. After that, the other Clevelanders started to take participate in celebrations ceremony, which is now called as the Sweetest Day.
